NEW HAVEN, CT – The Yale University Bulldogs and Rhode Island College Anchorwomen competed in Yale’s home opener Saturday afternoon in Lee Amphitheater. Division 1 Yale and Division 3 RIC participate in effectively different competitive structures, and Yale posted a 192.850 and RIC a 176.050.
Individually, Jade Buford of Yale set a new career high on Bars when she landed a 9.85 on her way to a 38.775 in the All Around. Her teammate, Emma Firmstone scored a 9.825 on Beam, and fellow Bulldog Jacey Baldovino scored a 9.8, and she had added a 9.775 on Bars, and a 9.75 on Floor. Charlotte Cooperman shared the top mark on Floor with her. On Vault, Yale’s Aimee Titch scored a 9.725 for the top score, and teammate Rebecca Chong was right behind her with a 9.7.
Kelsey Gates and Kyndel Yett of RIC led their squad on Vault with a 9.225 and the pair also were the two top Anchorwomen on the Uneven Bars. Over on Beam, Alison Silva, Alison Kleinebreil, and Grace Davis put together the best scores for their team. Lastly on Floor, Davis snagged a 9.450 and Gates tallied a 9.4.
