Gymnastics: Air Force at Bridgeport

BRIDGEPORT, CT – On Senior Day in Bridgeport, the Purple Knights edged the Air Force Falcons in a super close meet 194.275 to 193.975.

Maya Reimers of UB and Jamie Lewis of Air Force each scored 9.775s to produce the best Vault score of the day. Riley Hill of AF had a 9.75 and Nina Whittaker of Bridgeport flew to a 9.725. Anna Salamone of the Falcons had the only other score to hit 9.7 or higher with her 9.7.

Kelsey Campbell of Bridgeport scored a 9.85 for the top Uneven Bars score of the afternoon. Thomara Powell-Brown also of UB hit a 9.775. Mariana Murphy was the top Falcons scorer swinging to a 9.75 and Salamone had a 9.725. Maritza Futch scored a 9.7 for the Purple Knights.

Reimers took the top Beam tally as she held steady for a 9.775 followed by teammate Brianna Comport and AF’s Kara Witgen and their 9.75s. Campbell, fellow Knight Carol Chiles, Murphy, and her teammate Rita Koeningbauer all had 9.725s. Hope Tralli of UB led off her team’s rotation with a 9.7.

Reimers also had the top floor score of 9.85, Kimberly Stewart had a 9.825 for Bridgeport, Randi Cutolo posted a 9.8, as did Darby Germain and Lewis of AF. Brianna Comport posted a 9.775 as did Witgen. Brittany Reed and Casey Bell of Air Force scored 9.75s.

Reimers narrowly took the All Around win scoring a 38.9 to Campbell’s 38.825 and Witgen’s 38.775.

The team also recognized the 10 graduating seniors: Brianna Comport, Randi Cutolo, Bethany DiCarlo, Rachel DiCarlo, Cheyenne Keller, Kimberly Kunert, Christine Liautaud, Brianna Quinn, Kimberly Stewart, Hope Tralli who all have made contributions to the team’s success over their time at UB.
