UConn Club team hosts NAIGC Meet 2-12-2011

Danielson, CT- The UConn Club Gymnastics team hosted the entire New England region of NAIGC club teams on Saturday, February 12, 2011. Defending national champions the University of Rhode Island won the meet with a team high score. Also at UConn’s home venue of Deary’s Gymnastics were Boston University, MIT, the University of New England, Vermont, and Sacred Heart. I unfortunately was unable to stay for the meet itself due to other gymnastics commitments. But the fact that it happened at all is a big deal.

Men’s Basketball: Vermont 74 Hartford 56

WEST HARTFORD, CT- As opponents go, the Hartford Hawks definitely had tough one in the Vermont Catamounts Thursday night. UVM was sitting with Stony Brook atop the America East and stood in the way of UHA breaking their losing streak in AE play. Unfortunately for the home team they would not overcome UVM and the visitors took the win 74-56. There was a bright spot for the Hawks as Morgan Sabia eclipsed the 1000 career point mark becoming the 23rd player in Hartford history to do so.

Vermont at Hartford Baseball Game 2 5-17-08

Following the heartbreaking loss in game 1 of the doubleheader Saturday, the Hawks were now in a position of having to win the second game to keep open a chance to make it to the America East Championships. Vermont would pick up the win 3-1 in the game as well but not before Hartford put in some good performances of their own and the box score was not the best indication of how this game went in some respects.

Vermont at Hartford Baseball Game 1 5-17-08

Following a rain out on Friday, the Hartford Hawks and Vermont Catamounts were set to play two on a sunny, though slightly windy day at the Hartford Baseball Field. At stake was a trip to the America East Championship. Each team needed to win 2 of the 3 scheduled games on the weekend to earn a trip.
