TCU tops UConn 3-2 in close volleyball contest.

STORRS, CT – With five matches in the books for the UConn Toyota Classic, the team that had traveled the farthest to get there, the TCU Horned Frogs took the court to face the home Connecticut Huskies on a Saturday night. Neither team had lost a match in the tourney and something was going to have to give. In the end the match would go the full five sets and down to nearly the last possible point before TCU edged out a win over the Huskies 15-13 to win 3-2.

STORRS, CT The teams traded sets back and forth and went into a fifth set where the lead changed multiple times until TCU finally reached 15. Full report to come.
TCU tops LIU volleyball in 3 sets.

STORRS, CT – The opening match of the Saturday session of the UConn Toyota Classic featured the Texas Christian University Horned Frogs and the Long Island University Blackbirds. TCU was coming off a victory over UNH the previous night and LIU had lost their opening match to the host Connecticut Huskies. In the end TCU would need only three sets to pick up the win over LIU but the Blackbirds did not go without a fight.

STORRS, CT- The opening match of the UConn Toyota Volleyball Classic would bring the Horned Frogs of Texas Christian University into opposition with the University of New Hampshire Wildcats and TCU would get on a roll quickly starting off on a 7-1 scoring run thanks to a quick point a TCU2 spike, another kill just in bounds, a Irene Hester attack through the Wildcat block, another kill, a Megan Munce put over, and a Irene Hester kill as well. UNH managed just one spike kill during this time, and they called a time out.
